Pahiatua Emergency Readiness Check  – April 1st“Don’t Be a Fool — Be Prepared”

Pahiatua participants* go in the draw to win coffee vouchers from local Pahiatua cafés

The Pahiatua Civil Defence Group, working alongside Explore Pahiatua, is encouraging locals, businesses and organisations to take a few minutes each year on April 1st to check their emergency preparedness.

Our goal is to create a simple annual moment for the whole community to pause and think about readiness so when something unexpected happens, we’re better prepared together.

Emergencies in our region could include flooding, severe storms, earthquakes, extended power outages, or road closures that temporarily isolate Pahiatua.

Click on the links below to answer a short checklist that tests your readiness - by completing this you’ll get instructions on how to win a coffee or if you’re a business a workplace shout from Thyme to Rise!

These only take about 2 minutes to complete but we encourage you to take longer with your family / staff to really think about putting in place some preparedness.

*Locals mean those based in Pahiatua township and directly around the town who use Pahiatua as their main hub.
